Delete your account

Last updated 3 November 2026. This page explains how to delete your wattout account and all the data we have stored for it on the server.

The app also works without an account. Without one, everything stays on your device and we have stored nothing about you that we could delete.

1. Delete in the app

This works on iPhone, iPad and Android, in this order:

1. In the app, open Settings and tap Privacy and account.
2. Tap Delete account and confirm the prompt with Request code. We send a 6-digit code to the e-mail address of your account.
3. Enter the code and tap Delete account for good.

If you would like a copy of your data first, request the data export under Privacy and account before you delete.

2. Delete on the web

1. Sign in to your account at wattout.app/app.
2. Open Settings and find the card Delete account (shown as "Konto löschen" in the web app).
3. Click Konto löschen, confirm the prompt and enter the code we send you by e-mail. Then click Konto endgültig löschen.

3. Without access to the app or the web

If you lost your device or cannot get into your account, write to hello@wattout.app and ask for the deletion. Send the mail from the e-mail address of your account so we can check that it comes from you; otherwise we ask for confirmation at that address. We delete your account without undue delay, at the latest within one month.

4. What is deleted, and when

As soon as you confirm the deletion, your account is locked and all devices are signed out. The actual deletion then runs in the background and usually takes a few minutes. These are deleted:

• account, profile, nickname, profile picture and your consents
• sessions with recordings, FIT files, RPE and Coach feedback, including FIT files uploaded from other devices
• your own workouts, plans, Coach data and Coach proposals
• recovery data and workouts imported from Apple Health or Google Health Connect
• signed-in devices, push tokens and diagnostics reports of the apps
• the records of AI calls for your account (time, purpose, model, tokens, cost)

There are currently no paid subscriptions, so you do not have to cancel anything before you delete.

5. What does not disappear at once

• Sessions stored on your devices stay there. You can delete them one by one in the app or uninstall the app.
• The account ID with the time of deletion remains, without e-mail address and without content. It makes sure an account is deleted again after a restore from a backup.
• The proof of your consents (purpose, version and time only, without e-mail address) is kept until 3 years after the end of the year of the deletion.
• Encrypted backups are overwritten after 30 days at the latest, server logs after 14 days.
• Feedback e-mails you sent us stay in the developer mailbox for as long as we need them to handle your feedback, at most 12 months. Write to privacy@wattout.app if you want them deleted sooner.
• In wattout Connected the other participants keep their own rides; you appear there as "deleted account".
